In the remote Yaqara Valley, where FIJI Water is sourced and bottled, we are bringing smarter technology to ensure our self-contained power grid is as efficient, climate friendly, and sustainable as possible.
In 2021, we began working on a 10-year energy plan to reduce emissions and optimize the efficiency of our power plant. We have already identified several renewable and energy savings opportunities at the plant.
We are replacing a large portion of our diesel electricity with solar and storage to offset up to 40 percent of our emissions. We also intend to implement energy efficiency and optimization measures to further reduce emissions, such as upgrading bottling line equipment and installing more energy-efficient HVAC and chiller units at the plant.
Once implemented, the plant will decrease emissions by up to 50 percent by 2025.
