Ensuring Fresno County does not go hungry

Supporting the Central California Community Food Bank in its mission to provide nourishing meals to families in need

While California’s Central Valley is our nation’s greatest food resource, many of the people who live and work in the region face food insecurity. The Central California Food Bank is the largest food bank in Central California serving Fresno, Madera, Kings, Kern and Tulare Counties. With the help of dedicated volunteers through 300+ partner feeding sites, the bank serves over 350,000 people each month and distributed 54 million pounds of food to neighbors in need in 2021.

In 2018, Lynda and Stewart Resnick donated $2.5 million to help the Central California Community Food Bank purchase a much larger food warehouse and distribution facility in south Fresno. The Wonderful Food Center, as it is now known, triples the capacity of the food bank, allowing it to serve more families than ever before.

The move to a bigger building is overdue and speaks to the growing problem of hunger in the San Joaquin Valley. We met with The Wonderful Company and shared what we are doing and what our needs are. And they were very gracious. I know it’s an overused term, but this is going to be a game changer for us.
