Sustainably packaged citrus fruit

As farmers of sustainably grown fruit, we feel that our packaging ought to be sustainably produced as well. So, we spent time researching and testing to find the best ways to reduce our use of packaging plastic, while maintaining a high standard of package performance.

In 2020, we completed an initiative to reduce plastic packaging across our Citrus products. So far, we’ve already reduced our plastic packaging output by 200,000 pounds and avoided over 200 metric tons of CO2 emissions. We’ve also eliminated un-recyclable wax-coated boxes.

Currently, we are experimenting with new ways to optimize cardboard glue patterns to reduce our polymer adhesive use by half.
